First Korean Casualty from Iraq War

Posted by 비회원 뉴스 : 2007/05/21 23:56

from 한국일보
Under mysterious circumstances, a Korean soldier was shot dead in a barber shop in Iraq two days ago. This is the first Korean casualty in Iraq since Korean troops were deployed there three years ago. To put things in perspective, there are over 3,400 American casualties and nearly twice as many civilian Iraqi casualties since the war began in 2003. Korea is the third-largest coalition contingent in Iraq, a fact that's always surprising, the first two being the United States and United Kingdom. There are currently 1,200 Korean troops in Iraq and a complete pullout is expected by 2008. When will American troops pull out?

All this talk of war and death is depressing, to say the least, so I'm including a song here by John Legend. For those who don't know, American R&B singer/song-writer John Legend has only two albums, "Get Lifted" (2004) and "Once Again" (2006), but has already won five Grammy Awards, including "Best R&B Album" and "Best New Singer" in 2006. The song below is called, "Coming Home," a soulful anti-war song (that's why I'm including it here). You can see the lyrics below.
