In addition to the unveiling of the New Seven Wonders of the World I wrote about last time, there was another big event on 7/7/07. Live Earth, called "The Concerts for a Climate in Crisis," was a seven-continent mega-concert designed to create awareness of global warming. It received a lot of press and was streamed throughout the web. Cities where the concerts were held included New York, London, Shanghai and Tokyo. The concerts included some 100 musicians, including Madonna whose music video "Hey You" is below.
The number 7 is considered a lucky number in Western culture. Last Saturday, being the seventh day of the seventh month of the year 2007, saw a record 3,000 weddings in Las Vegas. It's a lot like Asians wanting to have babies this year, the Year of the Pig, which bodes good fortune.
